Li'l Lanka Boer Goats Farm

ABOUT US

About the Li'l Lanka Farm

Li’l Lanka Boer Goats Farm is located in Finger, TN straddling the McNairy and Chester County borders, backed up to a beautiful 40 acre lake.

On the farm we try our very best to be as self sufficient and environmentally friendly as possible.  We grow a large garden every year along with grapes, an orchard full of peaches, pears, apples, plums, and several pecan trees, as well blueberries, blackberries, and even a few of our own hives of honey bees!

Our History

Jay and Marilea Hussain started the goat farm in 2017 with just two goats (Big Red-pictured below, and Dapple Daps) on 22 lush green acres.  Big Red and Dapple Daps are still happily roaming the hills and pastures.  The herd has since grown to somewhere between 45-60 goats depending on the time of year, as goat kids are born and sold year round.

As a part of the kidding process, the does are milked down, and the milk is frozen in the event of someone needing to be bottle fed in the future.  When new milk is added to the freezer, the previous milk is then turned into soap!  We don’t waste anything on this working farm!

We do our best to be self-sufficient and good stewards of the land keeping in mind the motto of reduce-reuse-recycle.  So if we ship a package, there’s a very good chance it’s going to be a recycled box and almost all of our soap packaging (which is very minimal) is going to be recycled as well.  This not only saves valuable trees, but it also saves our customers money in the long run as you aren’t having to pay for fancy packaging that is just going to be thrown away.  It’s a win-win!

Wondering about the name Li’l Lanka?

Well, we were married in Sri Lanka which is where Jay was born and raised.  We wanted to incorporate a little piece of his heritage into our everyday life, so, Li’l (little) Lanka was born!

About Handmade Soap

All of our soaps are made with a proprietary blend of oils that may include coconut, almond, shea, lard, jojoba, cocoa, castor, sunflower, amd soybean oils.

We also use good old fashioned lye when making our soap, but no worries, by the time saponification of the oils is complete, there is no lye left in the soap.  Not all of the soaps have all of the oils, so we have vegan options as well as coconut free varieties available.

If you have a special request, please reach out!  I have had a few people that have requested coconut oil free due to allergies, so don’t be afraid to ask.  I’ll try my best to make it happen.

Discover and Learn what Cold Process Goat Milk Soap could offer you!

Moisturizing: Goat milk is naturally high in fats and proteins, which makes it extremely moisturizing for the skin. When used in soap, it helps to keep the skin hydrated and soft, making it especially beneficial for dry or sensitive skin types.
Gentle Cleansing: The pH level of goat milk is similar to that of human skin, so using goat milk soap can help maintain the natural pH balance of your skin. This gentle cleansing action makes it suitable for people with sensitive skin or conditions like eczema or psoriasis.
Rich in Vitamins and Minerals: Goat milk contains vitamins A, B1, B6, B12, C, D, and E, as well as minerals like selenium, which are nourishing for the skin. These nutrients can help promote healthy skin and may even have anti-aging effects.
Exfoliating Properties: Goat milk contains lactic acid, which is a type of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) known for its exfoliating properties. Regular use of goat milk soap can help remove dead skin cells, leaving your skin smoother and more radiant.
Anti-inflammatory: Goat milk contains anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe irritated or inflamed skin. This makes it beneficial for conditions like acne or sunburn.
Mild and Hypoallergenic: Goat milk soap is generally well-tolerated by most skin types because it is mild and hypoallergenic. It is less likely to cause irritation or allergic reactions compared to harsher chemical-based soaps.
Natural Ingredients: Cold process soap is made by mixing oils, lye, and other ingredients at low temperatures, which helps to preserve the beneficial properties of the goat milk and other natural ingredients. This means you’re getting a soap that is free from synthetic additives or harsh chemicals.
